Professor, how important is cooperation between countries in terms of science?
Speaking about the cooperation of educational institutions, the knowledge exchange between universities is certainly very important for both countries. It is an opportunity to look at management and business from a different angle for us and to learn more about management and business in Russia. This kind of cooperation not only helps to establish new contacts and partnerships, but also to create new projects, educational programs, to contribute to the development of education. Such cooperation clearly has a number of advantages.
What trends are the main ones for world education now?
The main trend is blended meeting, a shift to mix education, which includes online and offline training. The relationship between students and teachers has changed long ago. And that's not just because of technology and digitalization, but also because of changing behavioural stereotypes, students mentality. Today many students combine study with work. Many universities develop a flexible and convenient learning system, including remote learning.
Another trend is the internationalization of education. It is not about formal signing of general agreements and agreements between universities, but about creation of general courses, modules of training. It is necessary to connect students from different countries more, both online and offline, to try to use different methods, not only cases, but also discussions, independent and group works.
What are the main skills for students now?
It's a good question. I thought a lot and even spoke with this topic at various symposia, published several articles...
The first are teamwork skills. These skills is very valued now. And the main thing is not just the ability to work in a team, but also to be effective at the same time.
The second are analytical skills. The skill not only to find problems, but also to find ways to solve them. I often watch students that work in team easily find problems, but they don't find problem solutions. It is important to think systematically, always stick to the end goal and closely link your actions to the goals of the team. It is hard, but need to be learned.
And the third are digital skills. You don't need to be an internet geek or a fan of internet technologies. But it is important to be able to use all modern digital methods to make the learning process faster.
